What we do not provide
We are only hiring out the space and do not provide any services. We may not even be there, but we have a good back team for any emergencies. We provide you with all the necessary information and everything will be warm and ready for you.
We do not provide bed linen or towels. We provide duvets and pillows in the houses. When we receive your deposit we will send you a bedroom plan so you can work out where people are going and what sized sheets they need to bring. They need to bring a bottom sheet, duvet cover to go over ours, pillowcases and towels. (When two single beds are zipped for a double bed the sheets need to be 180cm) We charge £15 laundry fee for emergency bed linen, or for people travelling from abroad. If clients forget sheets etc facilitators are responsible for collecting payment and paying us.
Catering
We do not provide catering
We put you in touch with our wonderful, flexible and innovative caterers – see attached list for more information, or you can bring your own cook or bring and share.
What we do provide is a wonderful warm and comfortable space to work and rest in, stunning grounds and a beautiful atmosphere steeped in history. From late spring to Autumn there is a wooden outdoor dining table and chairs to seat 20.
What you need to provide
Even if you are using the caterer, usually the facilitators provide a simple breakfast of muesli and/or porridge, toast, butter, spreads, marmalades and jams and sometimes eggs for boiling. Usually the clients are very willing to get the food to the table and wash up. You also need to bring teas, coffees, milks, cakes and snacks.
Contact details of your participants
We need to have a copy of the full names, emails and telephone numbers of all participants before your retreat begins.
Equipment
There is a large tea urn in the dining area and you can bring the white mugs from the course kitchen in on a tray. There are two large glass water jugs and also large blue plastic jugs for filling the urn. Please ensure the urn is topped up, and switched off at night. It is fine to bring the toaster into the dining area as well. The kitchen, though small is equipped with 2 small fridges, an oven, electric hob and dishwasher. Instructions for the cooker are in one of the drawers. There is more fridge space in our (terribly messy) laundry room which is up the step on the landing and first door on the right. The kitchen is fully equipped with plates, bowls, cutlery, pans and implements. You might want to bring paper napkins. We do not have a food processor or juicer, but we do have a hand held blender.

Protocol and Privacy
As it is our home, when we are around we may occasionally have our children or grandchildren to stay, but our private area has a separate entrance and patio so both your and our privacy is ensured. To that end, please ask clients to use the double doors at the top of the house opposite the Angel (group) room, and not the doors underneath the welly porch! Similarly, the Angel room and the Conservatory (Dining) Area have their own terraces where your clients can relax, and use the entire garden, but please ask them not to use or walk across the patios in front of our sitting rooms (obvious when you see them). The conservatory doors to use are the ones at the far end of the room, not the ones opening onto the patio in from of our living space.
Other protocol
No smoking indoors. No outdoor shoes upstairs. Be quiet after midnight . No drinks except water in the Angel room or bedrooms. No bedroom blankets outside - rugs for outdoors in the Angel room cupboards. Shower rather than bath. Please report any breakages. Let us know if there is anything you need or if something is not working. Before your course we will send our Arrival notes.
You may use photos from the website for your publicity material. Directions for Holycombe are on the website & can be downloaded for your clients. Please provide us with a contact address and email list of all your participants at the weekend when you arrive, as required by our insurance company.
